Q. How long do I have to wait between protocols?
A. You must wait at least 6 weeks from the last injection.
Q. Can I spread out my meals into snacks?
A. According to Simeons protocol “The fruit or the [starch] may be eaten between meals instead of with lunch or dinner,…” This means that you may break up the meals, such as eating the starch and/or fruit between meals or at bedtime. You may not eat the two starches or the two fruits from each meal together. Each item eaten counts as one of your eight items and cannot be eaten with the meal.

A. Dr. Simeons Says that you can have Chicken, Turkey is poultry but not considered Chicken. In the protocol it says that you can have Fresh White Fish. Tuna and Salmon are not white therefore you should not eat them. Halibut is white but it is the one white fish that is not allowed on the Protocol.
Q. What kind of medication can I take for headaches?
A. Any over-the-counter pain reliever may be taken.

Q. How long do I have to skip my injections when I am on my menstrual cycle?
A. According to the Simeons protocol - “During menstruation no injections are given, but the diet is continued and causes no hardship; yet as soon as the menstruation is over…the injections are resumed at once.” This is typically 5 days.
Q. What kind of lotion can I use while on HCG?
A. We have found that Ucerin can be used as it is mineral oil based. According to Simons protocol “Many women whose skin has in the course of years become adjusted to the use of fat containing cosmetics find that their skin gets dry as soon as they stop using them. In such cases we permit the use of plain mineral oil, which has no nutritional value.”
Q. What happens if I am on a plateau for more than three days?

Q. What happens if I gain weight?
A. Please evaluate what you have been eating and refer to the diet foods to make sure you aren’t overeating or eating the wrong foods. Please note, if you are using different medications, are sick, or are on your menstrual cycle you may gain weight. Please contact our office to speak with a medical assistant for assistance.
Q. How can 500 calories be enough calories to keep me from being hungry?
A. You are taking in 500 calories daily in this Protocol but you are also living off the fat you are burning. The more weight that patients have to lose the less hungry they are.
